I have a weakness for snuff boxes of all sorts--and boxes of all sorts really!--and really like the printed image of this woman against crimson, which to my eye lends her a bit of mystery and perhaps even scandalousness. I believe this one, lacquered papier mache, dates to the 1840s or so.
2 13/16” d x 3/4” t and in good condition overall, with a small edge chip to the lid and a bit of surface wear, as evident.
