Many Faceted Hand-sewn Cloth over Board Star in Ice Cream Colors with Rattle Inside

I grabbed this one without a second thought at the New Hampshire Antiques Show--all of those facets forming stars upon stars and the juicy ice cream flavored color palette just melted me! And there are beans or something inside that make it rattle. One sees smaller Victorian faceted pin cushions constructed in a similar manner, fabric over cardboard, but I think this was likely just made to be a rattle toy--and a means of someone showing off their sewing prowess! I would just set it on a shelf for colorful, geometrical delight.

5 1/2" x 5 1/2" x 4 3/4". Sturdy and sound. A few stains to the cloth here and there as pictured. C. 1920s-40s I would guess. Fabric is cotton.
