Man with Absurd Mustache, Gem Tintype in Original Potter's Patent 1865 Sleeve

Regular price $40.00

I keep thinking maybe this is not as wild as I think but then I look at it again and this mustache is truly insane. Especially on the face of this quite young man. Maybe a fake mustache, I don't know, I think it is excellent whatever the case. Potter's Patent March 7, 1865 embossed on the sleeve, which refers to the die-cut paper frame, patented by Ray W. Potter of New York.

As mounted: 3 3/4" x 2 5/16". Tintype 1 1/4" x 3/4". Excellent condition.
