I have a particular love for the painted patterns and combination of black and orange on Isleta Pueblo pottery, which is symbolic--here checkerboard patterns that I believe symbolize rain combined with orange circles with dots at their center that I believe reference either suns or flowers. This is an early example of Isleta pottery (New Mexico) made for the tourist market, c. 1920s.
