Longing Little Painted Papier Mache Dog with Spring Tail

This little papier mache doggy would make a very good companion for the little side-glancing man I am listing next, with this pup's spring wire spring tail a perfect complement to the spring wire body of the figure. And the face on this pup really seems to express longing for company! Very sweet, with excellent red painted toenails, too! 

2 3/8" t x 1 1/4" w x 2" d including tail. Though unmarked, my guess is this one was made in Japan, c. 1920s-40s. Very good condition.
