A fun little curiosity, this round treen box with tiny turned dishes and vessels and scoops inside seems very much of the same ilk as old wooden apples filled with horse racing roulette games and tea sets, and like those, I believe this was made in Japan for western markets, earlyish 20th c. Perhaps these little things were meant to populate a dollhouse table/kitchen, I'm not sure, but what a charming little surprise box now.
Box: 1 11/16" in diameter x 1 1/8" t. There is a hairline split to what I take as the lower half of the box, as documented, and perhaps a missing bit or two to the contents.
