This hand thrown earthenware lidded baking and serving dish was beautifully made, with a wonderful decorative, graphically patterned band that runs across the lid, down the sides, and across the interior of the bowl as well as the underside of the lid. The pot is glazed an earthy cream overall, with the banded areas revealing unglazed clay decorated with geometric patterns in black and blue and red circles. A very useful piece to cook with, and a striking one to put on the table, this would make a perfect housewarming or wedding gift!
The piece measures 8 1/2" in diameter. The bowl is 3 3/4" tall and 6 3/8" tall with lid on. Excellent condition.
