Chic and cheerful is this vintage Japanese (circa early 1940s) hand-painted ceramic wall pocket in the shape of a duck, with bright blue body and black and yellow wings. The body and wings feature incised / pressed textural feather details, while the pale blue underside of the neck has a texture suggesting waves, as if the bird is hovering over or just lifting off of the water.
The wall pocket has a hole in the back for easy hanging, and would work as a wall-hung vase or a small planter. Super sweet with a bouquet of yellow or blue flowers springing from its body, it would also be great with some small cut branches of ginko!
9.5ʺW × 1.5ʺD × 4.75ʺH; excellent condition.
