Quite a charmer this sketchbook, full of crayon drawings by a young Irma Virtanem of Finland, c. 1920s-40s I believe. The mother mouse surrounded by baby mice may be my favorite, but the rainbow colored sun rising over a native woman with skis in hand is my favorite too! And lots of other good ones--clocks and vases of flowers and Turra Linna (Turku Castle) and houses and gardens and horse barns and more. Plus what looks like an ice cream sandwich!? Very sweet.
8 3/8" x 7 5/8". 16 pages of drawings, front sides only. Perforated notebook--many of the pages are already loose or easily pulled out cleanly. All in very good condition.
