I have a weakness for old photos of boxers, and even more so of boxing matches themselves--the most brutal of sports, but also the most elemental; an intimate, acutely focused sort of call and response dance. This is one of two photos found together, each capturing a moment from a different match, between navy sailors, WW2, I believe. Captured in motion, beautifully framed, with wonderful expressions on the faces of the crew watching closely.
5 1/8" x 3 1/4", good condition. Last photo shows it side by side with the other, listed separately (not a great photo, but shows this one is just slightly larger than the other, and a little darker in tonality.)
