How to Talk (Or Primary Lessons in the English Language), 1882, With Excellent Endpapers and Energetic Hand-coloring

Regular price $25.00

I purchased this one for the "HOW TO TALK" handwritten on the inside cover--that alone did it for me. But I quite like what looks like a musical staff on the opposite page, too, as if to suggest that there are other ways to communicate! The book is indeed titled How to Talk (Or Primary Lessons in the English Language) by W.B. Powell, published by E.H Butler and Co., Philadelphia, 1882. Lots of useful lessons inside and lots of good illustrations too, many of which its onetime owner, of Oshkosh, Wisconsin,  energetically colored. I've shown a few favorites upfront and then a few more to give a sense.

7 1/4" x 5", 208 numbered pages. Overall good, much used condition, general wear, scattered coloring and handwritten notes here and there throughout--all of which are why I like it.
