I clearly love carved chains and balls in cages, but really get excited to find unusual whimsies like this one, which I think of as a sort of fantastical architectural tower, and which seems to reflect a very singular vision on the part of its maker. Quite some carving skills they had, and what a simultaneously whimsical and very lovely thing... It would be really fun to display this on a lazy susan or motorized pedestal to spin round and round forever!
I believe it is quite an old one, with a dry finish that has aged beautifully. 9" tall x 1 5/8" wide and deep. Very good condition, with no splits or notable chips or other issues that I can see.
