Fabulous Folk Art Black and White Doggy Foot Stool

Super! I’ve never seen another rolling pin style footstool/footrest fashioned into an animal like this, but with the long roll upon which to place one's feet, it makes perfect sense that this should assume the form of a dog. And what a great one, looking eager and ever-ready to lend its back to a resting a foot or two. The snout, tail and paws were individually carved then attached, with one black and one white paw at front, toe nails painted too!

14” l x 7”t x 5 1/2” w. A few loose threads here and there and a few upholstery tacks lost, but the fabric is pretty well attached and overall this guy is in good and solid shape. It seems that it is a heavy cardboard roll to which the fabric is tacked.
