A crazy thing, found in Concord, NH--this carved wooden car is over two feet long. (Forgive the crummy photos, this was way too big to fit in the light box!) I don't know much about cars but believe this was modeled on a Nascar type race car (maybe a Ford Mustang?) and I'd guess dates to the 1980s or so. I like it for feeling quite absurd, and also for its maker having clearly been much committed to their vision, with quite a lot of love and care invested in the form and detailing, really kind of amazing. Surely someone out there has been waiting for just this thing!
27 5/8" long x 8 1/4" tall x 11 1/2" w. Weighs a little more than 14 pounds. Overall very good condition, I'd guess 1980s or so? Some cracking to the surface visible from the underside, and one hairline crack along back edge of hood as documented in second to last photo, And one dark stain along the top edge of the rear wheel on the right side.
