I really like that this seashell was used as a canvas of sorts not to render a seascape, but rather this pair of cows drinking from a stream/river, with Dutch-stlye windmill and barn in the distance. Found in Maine, I might guess that's where it originated, but emulating a European painting if so. Quite lovely--and so is the flip side of the shell!
7 1/8" x 6 3/8" t. Good condition, much better in person, with a bit of loss along the top edge of the shell. Late 19th/early 20th c I believe.
