Clara Hall's Early 20th Century School Artwork Portfolio with Watercolors, Drawings, Design, More

Regular price $165.00

So fun finding this one-- quite a trove, all the work of a young Miss Clara Hall, who seems to have held on to every bit of her school artwork from the years around 1914 and kept it all inside a handmade, hard-cover portfolio. Lots of individual treasures here that I think transcend their life as exercises, but as a whole also creating quite a comprehensive portrait of how art was taught in grade school in the earlyish 20th century. Photos document pretty much all of it.

Most pieces 12" x 9"; portfolio itself 12 1/8" x 9 1/8". About 45 pages total, all loose. All in very good condition, a mix of media--graphite, ink, watercolor, cut paper, collage, etc., mostly on natural colored construction type paper. Clean, strong color, pretty much no losses, all the way through.
