This vintage Chinese cinnabar vase, believed to date from the mid-20th century, features a section of deep relief on either side, with flowers and branches set against a recessed gridded geometric pattern. The rest of the rich, scarlet red vase features classic patterns of curling vines, petals, and solid bands around the neck, shoulders and base. The lip and base reveal its brass interior, which I have not attempted to polish. Timeless and really lovely.
The vase measures 6 1/2" tall and 3 1/4" in diameter at widest. It measures 2 1/4" across at lip and 1 3/4" across at base. It is in very good vintage condition, with a few very tiny (barely noticeable) chips in the lacquer on its body on one side and a tiny bit of loss of lacquer around the very bottom edge of the base--none of which I think detract from the vase overall.
