Perhaps this wonderful painted sheet iron cutout bird was once the topper on a weathervane? I am not entirely sure, but in any case it's a pretty fabulous thing, with the orange paint perfectly aged and weathered to give it almost a marbleized look set off by the rich black. I really think the silhouette could not be better either, with that beak open to sign toward the sky!
I am not sure the age but certainly old. In great shape, with the iron giving it substantial weight. Easy to hang by resting on a small nail to two positioned between the legs and below the wing, which I would do straight away! 10 3/4" t x 7 3/4" widest.
