It's funny what sets our various hearts racing--this one completely did it for me, spotted in the case of a great dealer with the best name ever (Kitty Saylor) at a show just outside Nashville. With clear age, I think antique, and I believe the fine gauge wool yarn with which the skin was knit was hand-dyed. Perhaps Pennsylvania Amish, I'm not sure, but it has the same sort of sort of special feel as those wonderful wrapped yarn balls. Also reminiscent of the pieced oil cloth toy balls I love so much too.
2 15/16” d x 2 1/2” t and in excellent condition, clean, no losses. Hard to get scale from photos but the knitting here is quite fine (tiny stitches.)
