Found in Maine and I believe the "57" written on the underside of the base probably indicates the year of its making. I love how fully its carver was committed to the painting of every feather, yielding quite a charmer of what I believe is a Ruffled Grouse. With wire feet securely inserted into small holes in the natural wood base. A wonderfully folky, full of life and presence small carving, readily perched most anywhere.
4 5/16" l x 2 5/8" t x 1 1/2" w. Very good condition, sturdy and sound, with a few stray paint drips on the base.
