I find something kind of magical about the effect of spatter painting--this I believe an art school exercise, c. 1940s, made using a stencil/mask (as with a theorem painting). With ink outlining and lines for shading added along one side and interior side of the handle. Simple but quite satisfying, and makes this jug feel quite iconic.
14 1/2" x 11 5/8". Ink on board. What looks like a water stain to the bottom left corner of board, as documented--but lots of space around it for a mat or to trim.
