Some old hand-painted postcards I love for their curiosity of their imagery and captions, and others, like this one, for representing an easy way to collect lots of little landscape paintings! I especially love the gold-painted curlicue border around this one, just right for a framing a postcard-perfect view, with sailboat in the distance. Signed ORG at bottom right for O.R.Gerring, stamped again on the reverse side, certainly a relative of the Mr. W. E. Gerring to whom it was sent. c. 1910. Excellent condition. 3 1/2" x 5 1/2".
