The striking Art Nouveau pen and ink drawing on the front of this 1903 postcard feels to me very apropos for marking the beginning of 2021--not exactly bright and cheerful, but more like a vision of a future emerging from a field of black. Super French, and really lovely, this is one I think I'd put in a frame and hang where I'd see it all the time--in part as a reminder to live in the present.
3 1/2" x 5 1/2". Very good condition. Signed by the artist on front (Hacques, I believe). Stamp with postmark at upper right of front; used back including wishes to the recipient for a good and happy new year.
