Beautiful, Unusual Four Quadrant White on White Antique Schoolgirl Darning Sampler

I purchased this one from the same seller as the sewing skills sampler also listed today, and believe it too is German, probably fourth quarter 19th century. I have a special love for darning samplers--demonstrating the ability to mend holes in different types of fabric-- and really love the minimalist white on white of this one, which makes it feel especially contemporary.  I'm not sure that I've seen another where the cloth to be mended was knit by hand, first, either! And looks like the top left quadrant was handwoven first, too. An unusual and lovely example.

7" x 7" Very good condition, with just a tiny bit of curl along the outside edge of the knitted quadrant, which would uncurl if pinned/mounted at the corners.
