Antique Hand-Carved Frowning Woman

Regular price $90.00

I assume this piece was once part of a piece of furniture--perhaps the arm of a chair, such than many hands rested atop her head, or maybe she topped a post, taking a few bumps to the nose over the years. Whatever the case, I really love her face, with strong brow, deeply carved tear drop shaped eyes, and this wonderfully pouty mouth! I'm not sure of her origins but I'd think European and definitely an antique one, and making a terrific addition to a collection of carved heads and figures now.

4 5/8" t x 2 1/4" w x 2" d. A little loss to the tip of nose which I don't think detracts and a split to the wood behind her right ear, but otherwise very good condition, stable and sturdy, great patina, and stands up straight on her own.
