I'm sure I couldn't afford this doll if it still had its carved limbs and head, but I think I might rather have this torso exactly as it is--plus, it stands up on its own, making a really wonderful tabletop sculpture. Toward the base are still the nails/pins via which the legs would have attached, and around the neck and arm holes still some old paint. Beautiful patina to the dry wood, and to my eye lovely.
