I've always got my eyes peeled for beautiful antique no indices playing cards, but almost never find a complete deck that is within my reach. But here are these! They are late 19th century Swedish, specifically about 1893, produced by A.Boman in Stockholm I believe (which also made a great deck of cards for a game called “Kille”), with the ace of hearts showing a Stockholm stamp. They've got all the attributes I love--nearly square corners, a little variation to saturation and some bleeding around the edges of the pips, matte surfaces, simple but lovely backs, and I especially love the relative smallness of the pips on these (and the shape of the clubs, especially, makes me swoon.) Really a lovely deck, which would be a real treat to play with now and then.
Some ingrained dust, a few scattered stains and a little browning, but overall very good condition. Cards measure 2 1/2" x 3 1/2".
