Really a beautiful and special feeling make do thing, which I believe would have been used for hunting (impaling) frogs. The fork is iron, and the handle driftwood, super smooth and with wonderful sculptural form. (Photos do no justice, and can't convey how nice to hold, either.) To my eye and sensibilities, a perfect object--born of necessity, resourcefully constructed, and about as poetic as it gets. Found in the Midwest.
15 5/8" l x 3 1/8" w and in very good, presumed antique condition. The spear shows, which shows clear age and some light rusting, is joined to the handle with a large iron nail.
