Perhaps my favorite of the week, this is a 1920s snapshot of a baptism--clearly taken from quite a distance, such that the ceremony in process seems as if happened upon by the taker of the photo--a voyeur on a very private moment, which makes us feel that way too. And captured in the image is a third figure at far right, back turned and partially bent over, lending an added charge--have we caught him in a vulnerable moment/private act, too? This is a small photo such that the figures are tiny here, making one really peer into it, which I could do all day.
4 1/2" x 2 7/8" and in good condition.
