Just beautiful, with these super graphic yellow and black hex stars just totally doing it for me. Lots has been written about the Pennsylvania Dutch use of these complex geometric, heavenly inspired stars on the sides of barns and far beyond, and I do think they capture both a magical sort of wonder and a sense of universal order. I presume this was once a panel/door on a piece of furniture, or perhaps the slide lid on a very long box.
19 3/4" x 10 1/4" x 1". Some paint loss, particularly to the green around the perimeter, as evident, and a bit of old loss to the bottom right corner.
