Hard to resist a nicely carved leg, even better when it’s attached to a ball in cage, and maybe there’s a ball and chain metaphor to be made here too! It’s an old one, with a great dry wood patina, and I love how tiny that little carved ball is inside the very thin walls of the cage. Perhaps there were once more links to it, I’m not sure, but I think it’s just right as it is, and perfect for hanging from one little nail on the wall.
There is one tiny split at the bottom of one of the posts on the cage, visible only if looking for it and not creating any problems. 9 1/4” tall as hung, 1 1/4” at widest point.
