Antique Kindergarten Paper Weaving in Greens

A lovely example of a late 19th/early 20th c. kindergarten woven paper "beauty form" using Froebel's 14th Gift weaving papers. Celadon green paper woven into darker green, and mounted to tan. For Froebel, paper weaving was a means of teaching "counting, progression, method, composition, planning and creativity" [Norman Brosterman, Inventing Kindergarten] as well as, perhaps most importantly, color.
