I think I love portraits of houses as much as portraits of people, with the added benefit that the former make excellent vehicles for the rendering of pattern, which is very much the case here--pattern packed! I especially love those chimney, and the solid green of the shutters giving the eye somewhere to land, too. Lovingly done, and clearly the portrait of a particular, much loved place. Late 19th/early 20th c. or so, I believe.
Framed, as found: 8 3/8" x 4 7/16". Sight: 7 1/2" x 3 1/2". Staining visible along left and especially right edges, but clean, dry and stable now, with new board backing recently added.
