The lovely antique barber's brush features a turned oak wooden handle, and beautiful long--and very soft!--horsehair bristles, I believe it dates to the late 19th or early 20th century, but have not found another exactly like it. The form of the handle is a bit unusual; shorter than one typically sees, and with the end tip of the wood actually being a plug that pulls out, as if one might store a little something inside! Perhaps a secret snuff compartment? Or perhaps a repair made along the way somewhere? I'm not sure, but I think it makes it even more of a special thing and great addition to a collection of beautiful brushes!
7" long with a diameter of 1 5/8". Very good vintage condition.
