This sweet old miniature chair and a good number of things I'm listing today came from the Rockport, MA estate of the late Ellen Gabin, an artist, activist, world traveler, friend and great inspiration to me when I was just get started with Critical Eye Finds. It was an honor and joy for me this week to spend time in her former home surrounded by the things she loved, and to now to become the steward of some of my favorites among them.
Nothing fussy about this chair, just a good and honest thing, lovingly made and lovingly mended--by the original maker I think--when a split across of the front of the seat developed. Great lines, all just a bit off perfectly square, best of all the three verticals art the center of back. In original black paint.
5 1/4 x 3 1/8 w 2 3/4 d. Good condition, sturdy and sound and stable.
