Adam and Eve and the Serpent, Fabulous Mid Century Enameled Copper Plate

Pure delight finding this one. I love how this very young looking Adam holds up his hand in a sort of friendly, ineffectual wave.... goodbye to innocence!--while our vixen-esque Eve looks quite ready to run away with the serpent! Pretty great use of branches and hair to conceal their bodies, too!  Enamel on copper, mid-20th century, with a sort of mottled blue and white ground that gives it the feel of an aerial view of the earth itself . 

 8" in diameter and in good condition, with just a bit of copper streak on the diagonal across Eve, I think likely original to its creation.
