This large hand thrown ceramic vase features bold, deeply incised Art Nouveau inspired decoration around its in neck and shoulders in shades of copper, silver and white--a flower, leaf and vine design that is striking against its black body. It would be especially dramatic filled with large white lilies or a few tall flowering branches, but is a thing of beauty that commands plenty of attention just on its own.
The vase is signed with what looks like "Anul" and "© 1984". There is a little wear to the metallic glaze and a few white scuffs on the black, which I think make it feel all the more true Art Nouveau.
