If you look very closely, you will see that ALASKA is painting across the front of the red section of this base on this Native American made souvenir totem pole, either Tlingit and Haida, dated 1932 on the underside. It is increasingly hard to find older ones like this, and it's a really good one I think, nicely carved and wonderfully painted, with great alligatoring to the paint now. I believe at top is an owl, with these terrifically colorful wings, and a bear below, with those fabulous four tucked legs ending in claws down the front.
8 7/8" t x 4 5/8" w x 1 3/4" and in great, almost antique condition, no losses, beautifully aged.
