Sweet Little Bee-like Antique Folk Art Pin Cushion

Just too sweet a little pin cushion to resist, which to me looks something like a bird or bee--flying into spring! Clearly made with a lot of love, with that pink silk ribbon hand-stitched all around the edges, a small gap left at the nose end for hanging. Terrific fabric too, brocade I want to call it, with cream on black seaweed pattern and areas of well worn velvet. And then a pretty little blue and white patch sewn on to the underside, I presume a slightly later mend. Charming.

2 1/2" x 1 13/16". 19th century I believe and holding together still, the pink silk much worn in spots but not brittle or shedding.
