I bought this one first and foremost for myself--I very much identify with this girl!--but as she feels to me somehow like the perfect embodiment of transition from winter to spring, and a wonderful embodiment of awkward exuberance too, I thought someone else might need her company. What she has in her hands I'm not sure, but it feels like bright green flashes of electricity! And then this bonnet, which also looks like a glowing halo. Plus what looks like a draped curtain framing her to the left, and maybe to the right, too, as she stands proudly on her green rug. I have not opened the frame, but it looks to me perhaps she was drawn on the un-papered board of a book--and she has become one with that surface. 19th century I am sure, and clearly the frame is too, and it is a beauty.
Framed, as found, under glass: 9" x 6 7/8". Sight: 7" x 4 7/8". All in good condition, with original wood back to the frame. I'll try to add a couple of small eye hooks and a wire to the back before sending.
