This feels to me like very lyrical line drawing in space. I've seen a few other late 18th/early 19th c. iron trivets with pinched loops as here, but never one where the iron is so thin, and it is that lightness of line that really makes it for me. Very lovely, and one I'd be most included to hang from a nail on the wall. Good for casting shadows, too.
Each side 11" long. 1 3/4" t. Good antique condition, stable and sound, with aging to the iron as there should be, but not much shedding.
