I believe this wonderful ladies leg shoe horn is a piece of trench art--looks to me perhaps made from the brass of a shell casing-- and I would think WW1 era. With engraving detailing her shoe, a flower on her calf, and then intensive pinprick type decoration all around what I take for a garter midway up (with those spikes providing a good means of hanging this one the wall from a couple of small pins or nails.) I've certainly seen a lot of ladies legs calipers, but much rarer in my experience to find a shoe horn, and think this is really a great one.
9 1/2" x 2 7/8". Great condition, great patina.
