This is a beautiful thing, whether or not one has ever cast a fishing line in one's life. It is a large antique bait bucket/minnow pail in original green (beautifully worn and aged) paint, French I believe, early 1900s. With a very lyrical, perfectly working wire clasp mechanism locking the lid, as detailed--that loop of wire raises as a handle for locking/unlocking it, then lies flat once closed. Great form, nice bail handle, perfect patina, just lovely. Makes me want to be a kid heading to the creek to catch ever evasive tadpoles--or frogs!
Bucket itself (vessel;) 11" w x 7 1/8" t. With handle 12" w x 12" t. Very good antique condition, just right patina.
