I don't play backgammon but I really love the spiky geometries of a backgammon board, and rendered in pietra dura, I could not resist. Italian, mid 20th century I believe, or maybe just a little earlier, with three, or maybe it is four, different types of marble incorporated. Being stone, it is heavy; my inclination would be to set in on the table like a tray, perhaps with a few small things arranged atop it in artful (and geometric) fashion!
13" x 9" x 1 1/8". Good condition, with light surface scratches and minor dings here and there as documented. On the reverse side are a two horizontal risers that elevate it just a bit.
