The more time I spend looking at it, the more I love this photo, which (as someone who often looks at compositions of bodies through the lens of modern/contemporary dance) feels almost like a dance still to me--but also one enhanced by this blur of a black cloud hovering over our very handsome young lifeguard. Like three separate choreographed vignettes sharing the same frame: young women in foreground (with great faces!) turning their heads, child with pail and mother bending squarely at the waist in the middle distance, and then this lifeguard looking rather as if winking at the camera in an almost conspiratorial sort of way, as if that cloud were the devil on his shoulder, coming for them all! (That's one reading, anyway!) All to say I think it's pretty compelling.
