American Steel and Wire Co. Ellwood Fence Antique Wirework Advertising Trivet Turned Standing Frame

Regular price $50.00

I found this with an old photo trimmed round and mounted at the center, covering the original tin plate advertising the Ellwood Fence of the American Steel and Wire Co. And I presume that whoever added that photo was the same person who added the wire stand to the back, turning the wirework advertising trivet into a handy--and great looking--standing frame. The photo was unremarkable so I pulled it out-- and low and behold!

C. 1910-20, constructed entirely of (American Steel and Wire Co.) steel wire with printed tin plate at center. I'm not a purist so have left the stand attached (easily removed) and do believe this makes quite an excellent frame (standing or hanging) should one wish to use it that way!

5 1/4" d. Tin center: 3 1/4" d. 6" deep with stand back. Tin advertising plate held tightly in the frame by two wires on reverse side, which can be readily removed with a bit of pressure. Fading and some wear to the surface of the advertising plate as evident; wire frame in very good condition.
