I love this one so much, including for the fact that it feels pretty existential to me, with this carved, jointed figure suspended forever at the center of this long arching twig, weighted with chunks of wood at either end. I think perhaps the game is to find the exact position of the figure that will counterweight the wooden bits on the ends and allow him to balance in the air while they sit flush to the surface of a table, but really there are sorts of ways to position this, and holes in the figure's (very large) hands allow one to turn him all the way around. Definitely one of a kind and to my sensibilities a perfect combination of graceful and awkward and a bit mysterious.
Approx. 13" long measured straight end to end and 7" tall not including figure; figure itself is 5 3/8" tall. Some wear around the holes in his arms but overall very good condition and structurally sound. From an old estate in Cambridge, MA and definitely with a good amount of age.
