Great Form: Satisfying Old Carved Wooden Plumb Bob

I come across a lot of old brass and iron plumb bobs, but much less frequently a wooden one, and even less often a long, sharply pointed one like this. (And this one carved of soft wood, unlike the turned hardwood examples one more commonly sees.) Anyway, it struck me as unusual, and just a great form, satisfying like geometric solid blocks. With original iron hanging loop and great warm dry patina. Better than my photos, which make the wood look a little redder than it is.

6 3/4" l including iron loop, 1 5/8" widest. Very good condition, late 19th/early 20th c. I would guess.
