It's been a while since I found a beautiful antique set of bone dominoes, and what a joy to find these beauties in New Hampshire last week. I'm picky about my dominoes, but these are all the things I love--nice and thick and heavy, with real ebony backs, and brass spinners that allow them to really spin. And then these gorgeous red pips, and incised perimeters and center lines. As good as gets in my opinion, and a complete set of 28, ready to play. My guess is sailor/whaler made, and more mid than late 19th century.
Each 1 3/4" x 13/16" x 3/8" thick. Set of 28. Found in a tole painted box, which is how I will send them, which measures 7" x 4 5/8" x 2 3/8". General wear from use, all to the good I think.
