Wonderful 1920s Weller Pottery Frog on Lily Pad Planter - repaired, but great

Regular price $80.00

Feels like Spring! I often admire early Weller pottery, specifically (not surprisingly)  their matte green glazed vessels from the 1910s-20s, but they're usually a bit beyond my reach. This sweet thing, which I really want to see planted with a few crocus or other early spring flowers, I found the other day in Maine, and while it shows an old repair, I don't think it matters a bit if one is to indeed use it as a planter, as one most definitely should! The fact of the repair knocks a few hundred dollars off the price, but I think it's perfect just the way it is.

The repair shows on the interior of the vessel against the cream, and can be seen up the exterior side if one looks for it, but it took me a bit to see it. Structurally it's in great shape and completely stable, and there are no other chips or cracks or flaws that I can see. Stamped "Weller Pottery" with a hand-painted "27" on the underside.

3 7/8" t x 3 3/4" w x 4 1/8" deep (long).
